Rosie and I are BFFs!

Today in class we watched a movie about Rosie the Riveter, it brought back some memories. I didn't start calling myself a feminist until I came to college and took my first Women's Studies class, but I have had feminist ideals for forever. When I was in high school there was a guy I dated who most of the time insisted on driving me everywhere. He would call me a crazy feminist whenever I offered to drive and make jokes about how I like to argue for women's rights. When Christmas came around he gave me a gift of the Rosie the Riveter action figure, with spring action rivet gun! I loved it and put it on the shelf in my room next to my American Girl and Madame Alexander Blue Fairy and Jo from Little Women. I need to remember to bring it back next time I go home.

We are studying the second world war in our 9th grade american history class, and we cam across this poster. But I am doing a project in Comm. arts relating to the book, "To Kill A Mockingbird" written by Harper Lee. The protagonist in this book is a gurl who hangs out with her only sybling, her brother Jem. But everyone tells her to act more like a girl, and our project is to find a subject that is well explicited in today's society, such as "don't lift that you're a gurl". But it wasn't solely jsut about gurlz, you could have done anything, but I chose to do a project on "Gurlz are weak", I plan to use this poster as support, and I will make a smaller section in my project for not only are we physically strong, but we are emotional strong. I can't really think of anythign else to use except a gurl in the army(not a nurse) and this 'Rosie the Riveter' poster...Have any suggestions?

My only suggestion is to pay attention in English class. The correct spelling is "girl" and "girls".

hey, this is comedy again.. I've know you've been big on feminism.. how do you feel about homosexuals?

Between what they can and can't do, and politics interfering with their lives.. Do you support them or what?

I asked this because you seem like a smart chick, and the feminism thing you have going on is a good thing, atleast in my eyes it is.

Please comment back..
Thanks, Danielle.
